Introduction Ketchikan, located along the Inside Passage on Revillagigedo Island., is one of Alaska’s most unique communities! Ketchikan is in Ketchikan Gateway Borough and is the fifth most populous city of Alaska. It is also known as "King Salmon Capital". The city derives its name from Ketchikan Creek which flows through the town.
Ketchikan’s waterfront buildings rise above Tongass Narrows supported by a forest of pilings and joined together by a picturesque boardwalk. Some of the major tourist attractions include the world's largest collection of totem poles at Saxman, Totem Bight, and the Totem Heritage Center and the Misty Fjords National Monument.
