Alaska : Demographics

Alaska, is ranked 47th in terms of population in the US with an estimated total of 643,786 in 2002, an increase of 2.7 % since 2000. The Roman Catholic Church is the largest religious organization in the state with 54,359 adherents. Southern Baptists consist of 22,959 adherents and 68 congregations. Some of the other religious groups present in Alaska are the Latter-Day Saints (Mormons), Independent, Non-Charismatic Churches, and Episcopalians.
